Board President Rose Mosley called meeting to order at 6:34 P.M.
Roll Call
Present: R. Mosley, T.C. Brunious S. Vina, G. Hanson, E. Wimbush (late), K. Johnson (late), T. Butler (late) & S. Huntington, Director.
Adoption of Agenda
G. Hanson moved and TC Brunious seconded to adopt the agenda. All ayes Motion carried.
Introduction of Visitors
No visitors
Minutes
G. Hanson moved and T. C. Brunious seconded to approve the minutes of the April 1, 2009 board meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
Communications and Announcements
Loyola is having a Health Clinic at the Library on Saturday May 23, 2009
Farmers Market will be held in the Library parking lot beginning in June and ending in October
Amnesty Week – May 11, 2009 thru May 16, 2009
Chamber Banquet – June 16, 2009 at Best Western in Hillside
Inaugural Tickets have been purchased

Treasurer’s Report
G. Hanson read the Treasurer’s Report. E. Wimbush moved and K. Johnson seconded to approve the Treasurer’s Report subject to audit. Board polled. All ayes. Motion carried.
Accounts Payable
E. Wimbush moved and K. Johnson seconded to pay the bills. Board polled. All ayes.
Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report
S. Huntington reported that he met with Tony Thomas from code enforcement regarding building a shed. He is requiring the shed to be all brick. Board requested that S. Huntington write a letter to the Village (Dave Flowers and Tony Thomas) and request their presence at our June 3, 2009 Board Meeting E. Wimbush moved and K. Johnson seconded to accept the Librarian’s Report with thanks. All ayes Motion carried
Committee Reports
None
New Business:
Library Budget for Fiscal Year 2010 – E. Wimbush moved and G. Hanson seconded that the budget for fiscal year 7/1/09-6/30/10 be passed. Board polled. All ayes. Motion carried.
Revision of the following Library policies
10.0 Policy regulating unescorted minors in Library – E. Wimbush moved and T.C. Brunious seconded that the policy be adopted as is. Board Polled. All Ayes. Motion Carried
11.0 Training and travel expense policy for Board Members and Employees- E. Wimbush moved and T.C. Brunious seconded that the training and travel expense policy be adopted as is. Board Polled. All Ayes. Motion Carried.
12.0 Safety and Security Policy – E. Wimbush moved T.C. seconded that safety and security policy be accepted as is. Board polled. All Ayes Motion Carried.
13.0 Rules of Conduct – E. Wimbush moved and T.C. Brunious seconded that the rules of conduct policy be adopted as is. Board polled. All ayes. Motion carried.
Fundraising in the summer with other libraries – Discussion of fund raising partnering with other libraries took place. A meeting will be held on May 16, 2009 at 10:00 am
Farmers Market – E. Wimbush and G. Hanson seconded that the farmers market be held in the Library’s parking lot. Board polled. All ayes. Motion carried.

Kim Johnson commended the staff for their hard work and foregoing raises in this tough time and being loyal to the Library.
Congratulations to our newly reelected board members E. Wimbush and T. Butler.
